Jan 2016 Litterpick Opportunity - Cottenham 2pm

Sat, Jan 23rd 2016 at 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

A Village Litterpick is being organised by Sustainable Cottenham 2pm, with refreshments at 4pm. Do let Mike Smith know if you can give some time.

GREAT RESULT -

Five Rotarians from the Rotary club of Cambridge South gave their time to help Cottenham Residents collect litter from the built up area and around the roads leading into the village, leaving the village looking pleasingly clean and tidy.  Piles of bags of litter were collected, including 10 by the Rotarians. "Finds" included paper, cardboard, polystyrene, plastic wrapping, cigarette ends, shattered bike lights, glass and plastic bottles, numerous cans and even a mobile phone !

Chris Ward from Cottenham, who had organised the event and was delighted with the results, provided very welcome cakes and coffee at the end

We made a difference !!

This was the latest Litterpick organised by Sustainable Cottenham.  We met at the Village Hall on the Recreation Ground - off Lambs Lane by the Primary School.

Wrapped up warm with gloves and sturdy footwear - equipment was provided.
