This weekend we have a special opportunity to visit Holland and share in the weekend of celebrations around their 50th Charter Night. Inaugurated in the same year as our own club we have had close links with them over the years and have had several visits between Cambridge and Enschede. Several members are co-ordinating together for the trip and are really looking forward to the famous dutch hospitality.

The group meets each other at Amsterdam Railway Station at 1pm.
Arrive Enschede Railway Station 4.15pm.
Hosts pick us up and take us to their homes to settle in.
Our hosts take us to have an evening meal at a restaurant in the old Firework area of the town.

After Breakfast in the garden we drive off to see the local Rijks Museum - part of the exhibition happens to be on the life and times of Gainsborough - plus refreshments in the delightful courtyard cafe.
A brief walk away is the town centre with its old church, a 150 year old barrel organ and outdoor cafe square. After enjoying the live jazz and a string quartet we wandered through the enormous market.
LUNCH - at Fellinis off the square - lovely fresh food.
After a pause to get ready for the special event we drive off to the venue - a beautiful house in grounds bursting with rhodedendrons (now a conference venue it once belonged to the original founder of the Enschede Nord Club).
Speeches, presentations, a rapper !, dancing, a wonderful buffet meal - what a night.
SUNDAY
After another al fresco breakfast we meet our group and our hosts at the local Golf Club for a light lunch and farewells all around.
