Official Presentation of Trophies to the Winners and Runners up of the annual Tommy McLafferty 5-aside Football Cup.
On the 6th October 2012 the trophies for this years tournament were presented by representatives of Cambridge United Football Club on their turf at the Abbey Stadium, during the scheduled game (at half-time). On a lovely sunny afternoon an audience of over 2,500 spectators watched the presentation. The head of Winter Comfort (the winning team) said he was delighted that the team were given this honour. Lee Gaskell, captain and Man of the Match on the day, was very pleased with the award and that he was now working for the YMCA and thoroughly enjoying it. Dexter Hall who made the last minute winning goal and all the team who attended enjoyed watching a great home 4-1 win for CUFC over Mansfield.

The retiring collection was in aid of Winter Comfort and raised £176.67.

Summary:
This years winners of the 2012 Cup are Winter Comfort after a close 2-1 final win against FLACK.
Teams on the day were Winter Comfort, FLACK, Jimmy's Nightshelter, 222 Victoria Road Hostel, Cambridge Cyrenians, The Youth Foyer - Cambridge, SC Rotary and the Cangle Foyer - Haverhill.
On Sunday 13th May 2012, Jordan Barrow, Mitchell Bennett and Scott Hilton joined members of South Cambridge Rotary Club to enter a team in the third annual Tommy McLafferty 5-a-side Football Tournament for Homeless communities. Named after Tommy McLafferty, who was a member of the homeless community and who died in 2009, the tournament is staged to help the homeless in Cambridge and bring them together to take part in this fun event.
Next year the tournament will be in the spring - 19th May 2013..
