Twinning with Rotary Club of Hanau-Maintal

In May 2026 we met with the Rotary Club of Hanau-Maintal, this marking the 25th anniversary of our twinning which has resulted in regular cultural visits, joint projects and exchange of ideas.

Participants from both clubs gathered to mark the 25th anniversary.

In May 2001 the Rotary Club of Ipswich Orwell entered into a twinning with the Rotary Club of Hanau-Maintal, since when there has been regular visits and collaboration on projects.

In May 2023 a group of 12 from the Rotary Club of Hanau-Maintal visited Suffolk for 3 days as part of the regular exchange visits and when an invitation was received for us to join their 50th anniversary of their twinning with the Rotary Club of Langres.

In September a group of 5 from the Rotary Club of Ipswich Orwell travelled to Hanau and participated in their 50th twinning events including the handover of a round bench and Linden tree at the Otto-Hahn European School as symbols of international friendship.

In May 2025 the Rotary Club of Ipswich Orwell met with the Rotary Club of Hanau-Maintal in Fulda for 3 days to renew relationships and for discussions on future activities.

As captured by the photograph, between the 14th and 17th May 2026 we met in Bosham with a group of 18 from the Rotary Club of Hanau-Maintal and marked the 25th anniversary of our twinning and co-operation on joint projects.

CHARITY GOLF DAY 2nd MAY 2024

Charity Golf Day at Ipswich Golf Club, Purdis Heath on Thursday 2nd May 2024 has raised £2,660. Thank you to all participants and to all our supporters. Our next Charity Golf Day will be at Ipswich Golf Club on the 11th September 2025.

Lendwithcare

We participate in CARE International's microfinance lending initiative, Lendwithcare.

This project involved restoration of existing outside teaching areas, the addition of further benching and raised beds plus planting in several areas of the school grounds including trees.

Thank you to all who supported the Art Exhibition at St Clements. This has enabled us to donate £1,500 to Cancer Support Suffolk.

This ran to the 30th November 2024 and has raised £1,060.

The Rotary Club of Ipswich Orwell is pleased to advise the date for this event at Ipswich Golf Club, Purdis Heath. In 2025 this event raised £1,600 for our support of local charities.
