On Monday 27 November the Rotary Club of Felixstowe held another highly successful Kids Kitchen at the Alex Brasserie in Felixstowe. This event is part of the club’s Youth Development programme headed by Immediate Past President Andrew Rowdon and is now established to become one of the club’s ‘Crown Jewels’. And the event is just one of our Youth Development projects which include the ITFC Inter-school Football Tournament at Portman Road and Clip 'n Climb for junior schools, along with supporting Young Carers on a PGL weekend.
This year, Kid’s Kitchen gave eight students from a local Felixstowe high school the chance to be part of a five-week course learning kitchen, cookery and serving skills, culminating in the main event at the Alex Brasserie. Here, under the tutelage of head chefs Chris and Preston of the Yeo Group, the young chefs created a delicious three-course meal for 46 guests, including Mayor of Felixstowe, Cllr Seamus Bennett, Rotary members, and the students’ parents.
All eight talented students received a well-deserved trophy for their hard work.
Thanks to the Yeo Group for hosting the event. And to Mark from Bailey’s Photography for the photos.
