Another great success for our Youth Development Programme

Kids Kitchen 2022 was yet another success in our Youth Development Programme. This year eight pupils from the local high school took part in a 5-week course learning how to work in a commercial kitchen. They then prepared and served a three-course meal and served almost fifty parents Rotarians and other guests, including the Mayor Councillor Sharon Harkin, at a top restaurant in Felixstowe.

Many thanks to you Andrew and everyone else involved with the Rotary Club and the Alex for organising this. It really is a great event and has left a strong lasting impression on the students and parents alike. We look forward to it again next year!

I think that what you are doing for these children is fantastic. It obviously goes down well with kids, the parents and all that attended, plus the great & good of Felixstowe.

What you are doing with this event ticks all the boxes, puts your Rotary club on map, good Community spirit and fabulous for the development of our youth.

Thank you for the kind invitation to the Kid Kitchen event. I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought the students did an amazing job.  Lovely to see their confidence grow. It used to be my job at the education business partnership ... linking young children/adults with the real world of work.  You can't beat it.  Some of those young people will have gone home enthused and excited, others will have conquered nerves and gained confidence.  I'm all for it.   Work-related learning when it's good is brilliant - Great rotary programme!
