Record amount raised

Santa and Rudolph’s Ride Around Town topped the £10k mark for the first time with £10,242 collected and shared equally between Save the Children and the Rotary Club of Felixstowe’s causes, and this Christmas Rotary’s cause is supporting those suffering hardship in Ukraine. Thanks to all those who have contributed.

Santa and Rudolph are a long-established part of Christmas in Felixstowe raising funds and bringing Christmas cheer. And thanks to H B Commercial, who stepped in with a replacement when the old trailer was found to be beyond repair, Rudolph will be on the road for decades to come.

But this is a community enterprise in which so many have played their part. So, thanks to all the volunteer collectors, Santas and drivers who have supported us through fourteen evening runs and two weekends along with appearances at The Triangle, Great Eastern Square and Mannings. A few mentions are particularly well deserved: The Town Council for making a substantial grant towards materials for refitting the trailer sound and lights; Mannings for the use of their coin counting facilities; Savers, Lidl and Morrisons for supporting the weekend events; and Vicky and Harry at the Half Moon (Walton) for accommodating the trailer throughout the refit and the ride around the town.
