2022 Charter Night Celebration
It was great to get together at the Orwell Hotel on Thursday 21 April for our Charter Night. And how better to celebrate than with Ipswich Town’s Russell Osman and Terry Butcher.
Great night for our members and guests
It was three years ago that we were last able to meet in the flesh to celebrate the formation of The Rotary Club of Felixstowe (in 1926) and our long history of fellowship and service. So this year’s Charter Night was something special.

more In Rotary there is a well-established tradition of visiting other clubs at home and abroad. Earlier this year it was our neighbours in Harwich and last week the Rotary Club of Gouda.
Fifty Years of Service
more Meeting on 27 July, our President Dougie Pipe had the pleasure of presenting Rotarian Barry Churchman with a certificate honouring 50 years of service to Rotary, the local community and far beyond.

more Here we see Celia Page receiving the Paul Harris Fellowship award, given posthumously to her partner Bryan Boreham and presented by our President Andrew Rowdon at the Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club on 22 June.
Handover to Dougie Pipe
more With the start of the New Rotary Year, we saw Andrew Rowdon handing over to incoming President Dougie Pipe at our meeting on 29 June. We also welcomed Paul Griffiths as incoming 1st Vice President.
Paul Harris Fellowship
more Our meeting on 24 June (2021) provided the first opportunity to mark the award of a “Paul Harris Fellowship” to Rotarian Richard Bugg. The PHF is awarded for service to Rotary and the community. And in this respect Richard’s citation is impressive.

more On 16 June (2022), we were pleased to present Mandy Tyler with a Paul Harris Fellow award for her sterling work in organising our annual Boxing Dinner.

more Our 94th Charter Night Celebration was held over Zoom on Thursday 29 April. As speakers, we had three Ipswich Town players of the 1970s and 80s: Brian Hamilton, Russell Osman and Terry Butcher. It was a great evening.
