Rotary and Lions join forces to help a local family
Combined effort to provide “chill out space"
The Rotary Club of Felixstowe and the Lions Club of Felixstowe have worked together to help provide some additional garden accommodation for a local family who needed some extra “chill out space” to benefit their mental wellbeing. The picture shows what on the face of it looks just like a regular good quality garden shed, but the Lions team (Richard Woolnough (President), John Gooch, Peter Cooke and Paul Nelmes) have fully insulated and boarded it out inside, as well as running in electricity in order that it can be used in comfort all the year round. The family are naturally delighted as it a facility that will be hugely beneficial to every member of the family.
The project was made possible through funding from not only both the Rotary Club of Felixstowe and the Lions Club but also the Half Moon Pub Charity Fund. The family sorted getting a concrete base laid, and the building was then purchased and installed by the supplier, and then the Lions team followed it all up with their invaluable hands-on effort. Thanks are also due to Travis Perkins and The Electric Centre for their generous discounts on materials and also to Buchanan Electrical for certifying the new electrics free of charge.
