Many of our Rotarians may not be able to help this year due to Covid restrictions, so we need your help please. If you are youngish, fit and able and would like to volunteer please contact President John Lock on 07757 423926 or 01263 663569 or email fionachant@yahoo.com or leave a message (via messenger with your phone number and email)
We have been weighing the pros and cons of bringing you Santa’s sleigh this year in the light of the current state of the pandemic. We want to do it as long as it is safe for everyone and, given that we were in Tier 1 and that there are mitigations we can take, we had decided on balance to go ahead. The latest lockdown is due to end before we plan to start so we still hope to go ahead. However, there will be differences this year and additional constraints. We are still working on the details so that we are safe as possible. So, in the meantime and subject to these caveats and also that the Covid-19 restrictions could change, our plan is to cover the following routes on the following dates in December (weather permitting as well!):
Mon, 7th – Start Bure Way; Stuart Road; Abbots Close; Gashouse Hill; Sir Williams Lane to the High School exit; Sir Williams Close; White Hart Street; Cromer Road to Bushey Place.
Tue, 8th – Start Market Place; Cawston Road; Mill Road and Swan Close; Charles Ewing Close; Mill Pightle; St Michael's estate.
Wed, 9th- Start Forster Close; Forster Way estate and Buxton Road estate.
Fri, 11th- Norfolk Homes estate
Mon, 14th- Start Market Place, Hungate Street; Palmers Lane; Sears Close; Wade Close; Crompton Road; Orchard Lane; Copeman Road; Clover Road; Norwich Road; Frazers Yard; Norwich Road to Market Place.
Tue, 15th- Start Hungate Street - Yaxley's Lane junction; Yaxley's Lane; Pound Lane; Foxes Loke; Holman Road & Close; Tuddenham Road - Partridge Road and Closes; Holman Road to town centre.
Wed, 16th- Willows estate
Thu, 17th – Start Market Place; Burgh Road; Bure Meadows estate; Sir Williams Lane up to the High School exit; then Oakfield Road to Market Place.
In addition, Santa will be on his sleigh in the Market Place on the morning of Saturdays 12th& 19th December and at Tescos on the afternoon of 19th December.
A final reminder that these plans are provisional and we will adhere to whatever the Covid rules are but we really want to bring some Christmas sparkle to Aylsham.
