CHAS Sensory Room Project

The Rotary Club of Kinross & District is proud to support CHAS in raising funds for a new sensory room at Rachel House as part of the hospice’s £17.5 million redevelopment project.

Help Us Create a Special Place for Children and Families at Rachel House

The Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) hospice at Rachel House has provided exceptional care, comfort and support to children with life-shortening conditions and their families for more than 30 years. Now, this much-loved hospice is preparing for a major £17.5 million redevelopment to ensure future generations receive the very best care in a modern, welcoming environment.

The Rotary Club of Kinross & District, working in partnership with CHAS and supported by the Rotary Club of Durham, is proud to launch a major fundraising appeal to create and equip a new sensory room within the refurbished Rachel House.

This unique sensory room — the only round room in the new building — will provide a calm, joyful and therapeutic environment for children and their siblings. Through light, sound, colour and interactive sensory experiences, the room will help reduce stress and anxiety, provide moments of fun and distraction, and bring comfort during difficult times.

The cost of creating the sensory room is estimated at £50,000. Thanks to Rotary Global and District Grants, significant funding is already in place.  But to guarantee we reach this target, our club must raise a minimum of £25,000 through an ambitious 18-month programme of fundraising activities and community events running through to Summer 2027.

How we're raising funds

Throughout the campaign, members of the Rotary Club of Kinross & District will be organising a wide range of club and community activities designed to bring people together while supporting this very special cause. From charity events and sponsored activities to local partnerships and community initiatives, we hope the people of Kinross and the surrounding area will join us in making this vision a reality.

Every donation, every event attended and every act of support will help create a lasting legacy for children and families across Scotland who rely on the outstanding care provided by Rachel House.

Your support will directly help provide specialist sensory equipment and create a comforting space where children can laugh, relax and simply enjoy being children.

Together, we can make a real difference for families facing the most challenging circumstances.
