Year 11 students are at a critical point in their education. If moving onto to A levels, apprenticeships or work they need to understand the concept of CVs and how to conduct themselves at interview. The Club contributes to this process by hosting CV workshops where the importance and relevance of the CV is stressed.
The workshops are followed, at a later date, by interviews when students are suddenly confronted with the prospect of talking to someone, in a semi-formal setting, they have never met. The interviewers are taken from club members and local business people and the CV is used as a base for interview. At the end students receive feedback on their CV and how they conducted themselves during the interview.
Some 115 students go through the process each year and the feedback we receive shows that the students benefit immensely from the experience.
