Camp Hill, October 17
On a brisk autumn day, Rotary Club members gathered at St Anne’s Academy in Camp Hill to celebrate a meaningful contribution to the school’s new peace garden. Rotary Club members Geoff and Anita visited the Academy to dedicate a newly installed bench donated by the Rotary Club, a gesture that reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to supporting local education and well-being initiatives.
The bench, now a centerpiece of the peace garden, is situated within a thoughtfully designed space inspired by the creative visions of St Anne’s students. Earlier this year, the Academy held a competition among pupils, inviting them to submit ideas for a peaceful outdoor area where students could rest, relax, and reflect. The winning design has since been brought to life as a tranquil garden, and the bench provides the perfect spot for young minds to unwind during their busy school days.
During the dedication ceremony, Rotary members emphasized the importance of spaces that foster calm and connection within school environments. “This is more than just a bench; it’s a symbol of our commitment to the youth in our community,” said Rotary member Geoff. “We hope it will become a place where students can recharge and find a moment of peace whenever they need it.”
The school administration, along with the students, expressed their gratitude for the Rotary Club’s thoughtful gift and the role it plays in creating a nurturing space for young learners.
As the Rotary Club continues to serve the Camp Hill community, projects like the peace garden bench reflect the organization’s dedication to creating positive, lasting impacts in the lives of local youth.
