The Rotary Club of Nuneaton Youth Speak Competition took place on 15 April 2026 at Hartshill Academy, bringing together talented young speakers from across the local area for an evening of thought-provoking debate, confidence, and teamwork.
This year’s competition featured two Intermediate teams and four Senior teams, representing Hartshill Academy, Nuneaton Academy, and George Eliot Academy. Students competed across a range of challenging and highly relevant topics, demonstrating impressive research, public speaking ability, and confidence under pressure.
The standard of competition this year was exceptionally high, with judges noting a clear rise in both quality and confidence compared with previous years. Each team delivered well-structured, engaging speeches, making the judges’ decision particularly difficult.
After a lengthy deliberation process to identify the finest margins between the competing teams, the winners were announced:
The Rotary Club of Nuneaton would like to congratulate all students who took part for their dedication, courage, and outstanding performances. Events such as Youth Speak continue to provide an invaluable platform for young people to develop public speaking, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
A special thank you goes to Mr Smith of Hartshill Academy for coordinating the school, organising the teams, and hosting this year’s successful event, as well as to everyone who attended and supported the competitors throughout the evening.
The Rotary Club looks forward to welcoming even more schools and students to next year’s competition.
