The Rotary Foundation is an international charity. Its mission is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty. In the main it is supported by voluntary contributions from Rotarians, friends of the Foundation and generous donations from the public all of whom share its vision of a better world and a desire to eradicate Polio worldwide, which, together with the Bill and Melinder Gates Foundation, has almost been achieved.
The Rotary Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation. It has become one of the foremost non-governmental charitable foundations in the world. The educational support programme is the largest private scholarship endowment in the world.
On a local level we are able to apply for funding grants to support our work and are most grateful to have received several funding grants from the Rotary Foundation to support some of our local groups such as Scouts, Free at Last and local food banks.
