Wigan Rotary Enjoy SUPPORTING OUR FUTURE
For many years now Wigan Rotary Club has helped two local pre-school groups that provide support for parents/ grandparents and children. Recently President Mervyn Reeves and Rotarians Alan Clegg and Aukje Clegg OBE, had great pleasure in visiting each group at their respective sessions in Beech-Hill to hand over two much needed cheques which will be used to purchase new equipment and books for all the children to enjoy.
In the case of the Parents and Toddler group they are now able to purchase a piece of equipment for the younger toddlers to play on. Meanwhile, at the second group which provides pre-school education, the money will be used to buy new reading books, which will then be available to taken home for children and parents to enjoy during the following week. This provides a valuable opportunity for families to read together and to share an experience they would not otherwise be able to do and learn from.
Grateful thanks were expressed to Wigan Rotary Club for agreeing to support this worthwhile project. President Mervyn Reeves said “I just wish everyone could have seen the faces of the volunteers and parents alike. It just goes to show what a little help can achieve”.
