On your Bike to support a Great Cause – The Prostate Cancer Bike Ride supported by Wigan Rotary in partnership with Wigan Council.
May we say “Thank you for helping to beat Prostate Cancer” at the Wigan Rotary Bike Ride held recently at Three Sisters through the letter to the Editor page in the Observer.
All across the country our Rotary Clubs including the Wigan Club, have been holding bike rides for all to join in whether a beginner on stabilizers or an experienced long distance rider. Together we have raised thousands of pounds for our chosen charity Prostate UK so we can give tremendous support to a good causes for those affected by cancer whether patients, relatives or friends.
In the UK about one in eight men will get Prostate Cancer at some point in their lives and it is estimated over 11 thousand men die over a year. Many people in Wigan joined in the event held at Three Sister on the 10th July this year to do just that and is was a great success once again. Wigan President Mervyn Reeves commented on what a great afternoon and evening raising money for such a worthy cause it was and he says “thank you to everyone for their support”.
