Youth Speak 2018 for the Peter Peacock Trophy
Wigan Rotary Club organised the preliminary Wigan heat of Youth Speaks
at St John Rigby College on Tuesday June 12th.
Teams from three Wigan High Schools competed for the Peter Peacock
Shield and a very high standard kept the audience enthralled. The
subjects were varied. Shevington High School spoke enthusiastically about the
teaching of Mandarin Chinese through The Zhong wen Excellence Programme.
Hawkley Hall High School explored the effects that schools can have on Mental
Health and the overall winner, St Peters RC High School explored the problems
we create through living life at a high speed.
Wigan Rotary Club President Gwyneth Millard congratulated all the teams on their performances and commented on their confident presentations. The teams are now invited to enter for the district heat in February
