Club Service
"Club Service" is the fellowship of our members and friends which binds us together as we provide Rotary service to Westhoughton's community.
Our main club service events in a year are usually:
- (In any year apart from 2020) to help Father Christmas as his Sleigh tours the streets of Westhoughton in the two weeks before Christmas. Even in thick snow, trusty Rudolph struggles hard to get him through to see all our local children.
- This is our major fund-raising event in the year, when the lovely, generous people of Westhoughton donate to our charity collection which enables us to support over 20 local organisations.
- To organise our Charter Night, held in October. This is the club's birthday celebration, marking our years of service since we were chartered by Rotary International in 1948.
- This was our last charter night in 2019 when Barrie Livesey was president (seen here with Suzanne). In 2020, the Coronavirus prevented us from holding the evening to celebrate our 72 years of service to the people of Westhoughton.
