The Global Polio Eradication Initiative is the largest public-private partnership for public health. Rotary, along with our partners, has reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979. We are close to eradicating polio.
Today, all over the world, Rotary has been celebrating this amazing achievement. In Forres "RotaKids" from Anderson's Primary School planted crocus bulbs opposite their school which will provide a long-lasting attraction for the town.
Rotary is one of the largest volunteering organisations in the world, and we're delighted to be working in partnership with Anderson's Primary to create our first Rotakids club.
RotaKids is an exciting way for those 12 and under to lead and engage in important, lively activities that will make a positive difference in their school, in their local community and globally. At the same time RotaKids develop the ability and confidence to take up their place in society as responsible, successful, effective citizens both now and in the future.
Rotary offers a way for people of every age to get involved in their local and global community. Get in touch if you'd like to find out more.
