EVENING BUSINESS MEETING

Members will discuss and vote on proposals from the service teams.

Ian Parr, Len Rainford, Derek Hirst, Ray Bointon, Mike Eaves, Len Rainford, John Shaw, Ian Boden, Alan Robinson, John Morse, Phil Round and a guest Robert Smyth.

Apologies were received from: Vivienne Clancy, Rebecca Gallagher, John Graves, Ken Smith, Harry Steven and Richard York.

Following a recommendation from the Youth Services Team, Ray Edwardson proposed and seconded by John Shaw  that the cash awards for the John Vardy awards be increased  for each individual. The motion was carried unanimously.

The Community Service Committee had received a request for sponsorship from Newton Storm Rugby League. It was proposed by John Morse and seconded by Ian Parr, that we donate  to Newton Storm Rugby League for sponsorship for the upcoming season. the motion was carried unanimously.

In the Rotary year 24/25 we have distributed £21,335 and supported 34 local and UK charities and 13 International projects. Also see our 2025 Wrapped which gives a summary of all the things we achieved.
