DEMENTIA SUPPORT IN ST HELENS

Find out why a dementia support group in St Helens between Rotary St Helens and Rotary Newton le Willows is a huge success

Following a generous grant from St Helens Rotary and the coaching of woodworking skills from members of our own club the St Helens dementia support group is proving to be a huge success, providing a vital lifeline for 100 members who either live with, or care for someone with dementia.

The group was started by Marie  the daughter of the late John Smith who himself had dementia. The group has grown from strength to strength.

Locally there is also a Dementia Welcome Support Group which currently meets on the 2nd Monday of every month, 11.15AM to 12.30PM at Newton Community Centre, Park Road South. This is a safe, friendly space for support, connection and understanding.
