Community, cricket and compassion in action

On 24 August, Earlestown Cricket Club hosted a special charity match and family fun day in memory of Billy Allan, who proudly played for both Earlestown CC and Norcross CC. It was a brilliant day of friendly rivalry, smiles and shared stories as both clubs and the wider community came together to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

Newton-le-Willows Rotary joined in by running a tombola and coconut shy (great throwing arms on display!)

They also donated two casks of ale to quench the thirst of the cricketers and supporters.

Thanks to everyone who took part and donated everything we raised is going to MNDA.

Events like this make a real difference. Your support helps fund vital research, provides practical help for people living with MND, and offers comfort to families when they need it most. Huge thanks to Earlestown CC for organising, to Norcross CC for travelling, to all volunteers, players and supporters and to Billy’s family and friends. His legacy continues in the good this day will do.
