Speaker's Donation. Following Jeremy Oates' visit to the Club with a talk on Prostate Cancer, in May, it was proposed By Alan Pomfret and seconded by John Shaw that a donation be made to the Christie Charity. The motion was carried.

Rotary Shoebox Scheme. As the cost of boxes is currently £2.00 each, the International Team recommended that the Club purchase 200 boxes, which will be sufficient stock for the next three or four years. It was proposed by Ian Parr and seconded by John Graves that we purchase 200 shoeboxes. This motion was carried.

Beer Festival. It was proposed by Geoff Shaw and seconded by John Morse that an amount from the beer festival account be transferred to the Trust , which would leave money in reserve for future funding. The motion was carried.

Team matters.

Community Matters.

Ian Parr was pleased with the amount of tombola prizes donated for our stall at the Town Show. There may be prizes left for another occasion. Volunteers are required on 2nd August to help on the two stalls and a list will be circulated shortly

A race afternoon was suggested for September and Ian stated that 60 people would need to attend to make the event financially viable.

On 24th August Earlestown Cricket Club is holding a fund- raising event in support of Motor Neurone Disease. It is hoped that our Club will attend with the coconut shy and possibly the tombola stall.

Executive Matters.

In order to comply with Rotary regulations, the Club will re-introduce the holding of a Special General Meeting (S.G.M.) to elect the officers for the ensuing year. The S,G,M. will be held on the same day as the November Business Meeting-24 Nov.

External Auditor. When the total revenue of the club from all sources exceeds £25,000 it is a requirement from the Charity Commissioners that in such cases our accounts are independently audited. The secretary will investigate the impact of appointing an external auditor.

This was President David's first meeting and each resolution was passed unopposed and with no abstentions. The members acknowledged his management of the meeting with a round of applause.
