Key Points from the Business Meeting 22/10/24

Present- Ray Edwardson(Chair) John Murray, Richard York, Ray Bointon, Viv Clancy, Les Clancy, John Morse, Brian Woodward, Mike Eaves, Ken Smith, Ian Parr, Les Greenall, Len Rainford, Harry Steven, Alan Robinson, Steve Owen, John Kilshaw, Alan Pomfret, Phil Round, Derek Hirst, Rebecca Gallagher, Geoff Fisher, and Geoff Shaw.(23 in attendance)

 

1. A donation was proposed by Ian Parr and seconded by Les Greenall for the Knit & Natter Group. 23 for non against.

2. A donation was proposed by Ian Parr and seconded by Mike Eaves for St Patricks Club. 23 for non against.

3. A donation was proposed by Harry Steven and seconded by Derek Hirst for Ascent College/Lyme and Wood Hub to purchase a poly tunnel (if required). 22 for 1 abstention

4. A donation was proposed by Geoff Fisher and seconded by Alan Robinson for Golborne Brass Band. 18 for 5 abstentions.

5. There was a discussion about on going support for the Newton Gardeners Associations annual show. The conclusion was that they will need to apply early in the New Year for funding with an explanation of what they plan to spend the money on.

Over the Rotary year your generous donations have been used to support a diverse range of causes. A total of £20,764 was donated with a further £2,600 distributed to the community groups that helped us with our float collections.

In the Rotary year 24/25 we have distributed £21,335 and supported 34 local and UK charities and 13 International projects. Also see our 2025 Wrapped which gives a summary of all the things we achieved.
