BUSINESS MEETING

The following 17 members attended the business meeting on Tuesday 24th September at Jaydees.

Stuart Ainscough, Ray Bointon, Les Clancy, Ray Edwardson,  Les Greenall, Ian Parr, Phil Round, Brian Woodward, Len Rainford, Derek Hirst, John Murray, John Kilshaw, Mike Eves, John Morse, Ken Smith, Babs Keenan-Morris, Steve Owen.

Decisions taken:

1. The Executive Committee recommended that we present a Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship (PHF) Award to an external speaker who has spent a lifetime involved in charity work.

This was proposed by Stuart Ainscough and seconded by Ian Parr. Carried unanimously       

2. The Environmental Committee have been supporting the Ascent College Hub and have applied for a district, which has been approved. it is proposed the grant will be put towards a new poly tunnel on the site.

This was proposed by Phil Round and seconded by John Morse. Carried unanimously.

3. The Environmental Committee need a sign for the Ascent College Hub refurbishing and upcycling. Markland Signs can do this at a small cost and will also add the correct Rotary logo onto it.

This was proposed by Phil Round and seconded by Ken Smith. Carried unanimously.

The following changes to the meeting schedule were agreed

4. Lunch Meeting on Tuesday 29th October is cancelled and a  Breakout Week is proposed where members are free to visit other clubs.

5. Lunch Meeting on Tuesday 5th November is cancelled because our Charter Night is in the same week.

6.  Lunch Meeting on Tuesday 17th December is cancelled because our Christmas meal is on the Friday.
