LUNCH MEETING

Tue, Feb 13th 2024 at 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Venue: HPGC.
Speaker: Norma Tinsley. Golborne Brass Band
Fellowship Stewards: LES CLANCY + VIV CLANCY.

Following the inauguration of the memorial bench on Newton High Street our weekly meeting welcomed Norma Tinsley, Golborne Brass Band leader and Manager at Santander Bank.
Norma focused on two distinct aspects: Firstly fraud and scams in banking and the top three tips to protect yourself from becoming a victim.

Her message was: NEVER share a one time passcode (OTP) NEVER move money to a new account for secuity reasons and NEVER take things at face value. Make sure you know who you are talking to.

She also enlightened members on the various types of scams involving e-mails, telephone etc.

To stop fraud TAKE 5:  STOP, CHALLENGE AND PROTECT.

More details can be found at:  takefive-stopfraud.org.uk

The second aspect of Norma's  talk focused on the Golborne brass band, the history, the upkeep and the plans. The club experienced the band at its recent social event, the feedback was very positive.
