BUSINESS MEETING

Proposals-

1.Business Cards for distribution at events. Budget agreed. Proposer Ian Parr, Seconder Ken Smith. For 21 Against 0.

2.Donation for Newclare Primary School, South Africa. Proposer Barry Curran, Seconder Ray Bointon. For 21 Against 0.

3. Purchase of 25 packs of Rotary Christmas Cards. Proposer John Shaw, Seconder Phil Round. For 21 Against 0.

4. Donation to the Sea Cadets.  Proposer Les Clancy, Seconder Richard York. For 21 Against 0.

5.Donation to David Swift for SCDF. Proposer Ian Parr, Seconder Geoff Shaw. For 21 against 0.

6. Discussion:To transfer money from the Beer Festival account to the Charity Account. Proposer David Smith, Seconder Len Rainford. For 17 Against 4 ( JG GS, JM, PR.)

 7. To keep a minimum reserve in the Beer Festival Account and transfer an amount to the Charity account. Proposer Ian Parr, Seconder Ken Smith. For 19 Abstentions 2 ( PR DH)

8. There was a discussion about Memorial Benches. LC is going to liaise with a local councillor to discuss this further.


9. PR is going to investigate the feasibility of a sponsored walk in aid of End Polio Now at the end of October.

10.The International Committee are planning an evening meeting on October 31st... venue and speaker to be finalised.

11. IP plans that further Pop-Up Bars are funded from the Beer Festival Account and the money accrued paid back into that Account.

12. GS informed the committee that Ronnie Beddard has resigned his Membership.


13. RE announced that at the recent Advisory Board it had been decided that the committee meeting minutes would not be read out. Members should have seen and read them before the Business Meeting and therefore only bullet points should be read out along with subsequent appropriate proposals for debate.

14. GS has made arrangements to visit the Air Cadets at 1900 hrs on 14/09/23. If anyone wishes to attend with him they would be very welcome.
