Summary of Business Meeting- 22 November at Jaydees Club Haydock
Attendance:  President Alan Pomfret and 21 members

International Committee ( Ray Edwardson )
The committee activities were summarised . There were no donations or financial matters proposed

Community Service ( Len Rainford )
A proposal for Friends of Lyme and Wood Pit towards the construction of a jetty for childrens pond dipping was seconded and passed unanimously.

Warm Spaces - The  meeting debated how we might support the local community this winter by using our financial resources in the most effective way. It was agreed in principle to support up to ten local organisations with donations to be spent supporting those in hardship.
Several ideas centered around Churches and other community groups who might be providing warm spaces where we could assist with energy bills for example. It was also recognised that there may be other causes looking for short term, immediate help.

A speaker has not been confirmed for the 6th December lunch meeting and there is no meeting next week. It was therefore agreed to ask members to investigate as many churches and others as appropriate in the next two weeks with a view to deciding on who we can support at that meeting on the 6th December.

Senior Citizens Concert: A provisional date of 24th April 2023 was agreed for a Senior Citizens party.  A provisional budget was agreed.

Youth Services Committee (Les Clancy)

There were no donations proposed this month

Executive Committee (Stuart Ainscough)
A proposal for a donation to NGMV Charity following the speaker at the evening meeting in October was passed unanimously.
It was proposed that a donation of in lieu of Christmas presents be made to the Community Hospital Charity. Passed unanimously. This was to be in memory of Jack Bradshaw.
There was no further business.
