UPDATE FROM VICTORIA MUSK - BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB

A total of 27 people attended lunch at HPGC

Guests included Victoria Musk, Newton Boys & Girls Club, Dave Sheriden - St Helens Rotary Club, Mark Ferguson - Friend of Len Rainford

Welfare Issues - Jack Bradshaw currently in Whiston Hospital cardiac ward 1D. Jim Collier fit and well and attended lunch.

Visits to Report - Craig Roberts presented a number of pennants from various Rotary Clubs that he had met during the International Conference in the USA. President Alan reported on his and Hilary’s attendance at St Helens Rotary Club’s 99th Charter Evening at HPGC on Saturday 16th July.

Speaker - Victoria Musk, Newton Boys & Girls Club gave us a update on how the club has coped during the pandemic and how they are moving forward in the future. The club currently has 730 young people registered. Of particular interest was the need for sanitary products for young girls, similar to “Red Box Project” http://redboxproject.org/
Further to this Geoff Fischer suggested that we should have a collection of sanitary product from the club members and donate them to the Boys & Girls Club, to be followed up at the next executive meeting.

AOB - Len Rainford has had a request from Terry Maguire for Rotary to provide a coconut shy and bar for event in Earlestown on the 20th August, community to progress.
