Graphene- Unexpected Science in a Pencil Line: Professor Aravind Vijayaraghaven, Manchester University.
This years annual Excitement of Science lecture will again be held virtually. In addition to our two regular attening schools we have extended invitations this year to the 3 Secondary Schools in Ashton-in-Makerfield as well as those in N-le-W and Golborne. So far the list of acceptances include:
Hope Academy, Golborne High School, Byrchall High School and St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School. A response from Cansfield High School (A-in-M) remains outstanding.
The target audience is students in the 14 to 16 Age Group ie those pupils in the 2-year run-up to GCSE Exams. All the Excitement of Science lectures are aimed at encouraging students to study Science subjects in the Sixth Form as a step towards University/College Qualifications and careers in science and/or engineering.
