The speaker today was Charlotte Elwood, Community Fundraising and Engagement officer for North West Cancer Research, an independent charity dedicated to putting the region's cancer needs first. The charity funds life saving research to tackle the cause, improve the care and find the cure for all types of cancer.
Living in the North West people are up to 25% more likely to be diagnosed with cancer than elsewhere in the UK.
The charity's dedicated supporters have helped fund more than £40million of pioneering research that, ultimately helps more people in our region. The charity funds:

*Cancer science projects
*Cancer scientists of tomorrow
*Cancer education
