Notes from the Business Meeting 29/09/26

Present: David Smith (Chair), Len Rainford, Derek Hirst, Richard York, Ray Bointon, Alan Pomfret, Barry Curran, Les Greenall, Harry Steven, Paul Mulvenna, Ian Parr, John Shaw, Ken Smith, Rebecca Gallagher, John Shaw and Geoffrey Shaw.

1. Proposal to increase the number of Club Trustees to six. JG will draw up a document to add this variation to the existing Trust Deed. Proposed by JG and seconded by DH. Proposal passed unanimously for 16 against 0. ( GS has already asked 2 members to take up the role of Trustee and they have accepted.

2. Proposal for the purchase of compost  for the community garden. A donation by Culcheth Rotary Club in lieu of the loan of  tables for their Beer Festival would be utilised. Proposed by IP and seconded by KS. Proposal passed unanimously for 16 against 0.

3. BC, AP and LR informed the meeting about the preparations for the Christmas Float. There will be the Hive Event, 6 statcs, 16 rounds and 2days of Christmas partes at Tree Tops. BC explained that he hoped to be able to staff all the events after analysing the results of the club member availability survey. AP explained he was in negotiations regarding the provision of a vehicle from Speedy Hire. The group were also informed that it would be helpful if we had more than 3 drivers. LR will be circulatng the staffing rotas for members tocomplete in the next couple of weeks.

Over the Rotary year your generous donations have been used to support a diverse range of causes. A total of £20,764 was donated with a further £2,600 distributed to the community groups that helped us with our float collections.
