THE JOHN VARDY AWARDS

Mon, Sep 21st 2026 at 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Our annual awards to our secondary schools will take place at the Mercure hotel. Haydock.

Today's meeting was the John Vardy Awards in recognition of our founder club President, John Vardy, who started the club in 1937. It was fitting that in basic education and literacy month we can honour students from our local schools.

Students from Byrchall High, Goldborne High, Hope Academy and St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School who had been nominated by their teachers for outstanding achievements and commitment to ther schools were presented with their awards by President David.

During their time at secondary school they had shown dedication, perservence and overcoming personal challenges.

They are all a credit to their schools, families and local community and the clubs wishes them well as they contnue their education.

This year's award winners were: Juliet Flanagan, Theo aams, Erin Crossland and Lexie Shannon.
