OUR CLUB LAUNCHES ITS FIRST ROTAKIDS GROUP

Congratulations to our new RotaKids group from Golborne All Saints Catholic Primary School which launched on Tuesday 10 June.

Congratulations to our new RotaKids group at Golborne All Saints Catholic Primary School. After more than a year of planning, during which time the children have already undertaken some great projects and fundraising, the group was launched formally at a wonderful school assembly on Tuesday 10 June where the children’s singing was likened to ‘an angels’ choir’. President David welcomed the members of the group into the Rotary family and congratulated them on the projects that are already underway. The Mayor of Wigan, Councillor Anne Collins, complimented them on their achievements so far and wished them every success for the future.

President David and President Elect Rebecca presented the various RotaKids badges of office and all the members of the group received button badges and wrist bands showing the message ‘RotaKids Make a Difference’.

This inaugural years Presidents, Ellie and Lucy, along with other Y6 members of the group, will be moving on to High School next term where they hope to continue their service projects, thus providing the basis of an Interact group.

A very big thank you to Mrs Webb and Mrs O’Nions who work closely with the children to oversee their group meetings and initiatives, fully supported by Head Teacher Mrs Griffiths. We at Rotary Newton- le- Willows look forward to joining you for your meetings and to helping you as you work to help others.
