The Club has already made a pledge  to the Rotary Club of Babcock Ranch Solar for Chernihiv Hospitals. The International Team would like to increase this as it would replace this year’s annual donation to Rotary Foundation, as a donation to a global grant counts towards our club requirement. If this pledge is agreed, a further gran will be available from the Discretionary Fund, if the global grant is approved later this year. It was Proposed by Alan Pomfret and seconded by John Shaw that the Club’s pledge be increased for this project. The motion was carried.

Alan Pomfret proposed and Les Clancy seconded that a donation be made to Education in Uganda. These funds will go towards the construction of a new latrine for 120 girls at a rural secondary girl’s school in Uganda. The motion was carried.

Ray Edwardson Proposed and Phil Round seconded a working budget o support our RotarKids group. The motion was carried.

Ian Parr and Ken Smith seconded that a donation be made  to Earlestown Cricket Club towards its recent social day. The motion was carried.

The Christmas Float requires a secured property when it is not in use. Premises have been found at an annual rent of £600.00 Alan Pomfret proposed and John Kilshaw seconded the motion. The matter was passed with two abstentions.

Venues. Haydock Park Golf Club would like to see our return. It was proposed by Ian Parr and seconded by Ken Smith, that we hold a lunchtime meeting there on Tuesday 8th September 2026. The motion was carried with two members voting against and three abstentions.
