International Musical Evening

Michelle Burns, Tony Hughes and Gemma Roberts

The Rotary Club of Nantwich organised a Musical Evening which featured local singers Gemma Roberts and Michelle Burns accompanied on the Piano by professional musician Tony Hughes.

The Latin, Jazz and Swing programme included many songs from the shows by composers such as Cole Porter and George Gershwin. Shortly before the end of the evening Club

President Philip Taylor presented bouquets to the singers and some wine to the accompanist, thanking them for giving up their time to entertain everyone.

The varied selection of songs finished with Gemma and Michelle singing Chattanooga Choo Choo as a duet.

The event was held to raise money for Lifebox which is a emergency response box scheme that helps people rebuild their lives after a disaster.

LifeBox has been established for 35 years, has helped people in over 30 countries and over 26,000 boxes have been supplied. It is a low cost  but extremely effective method of providing aid and comfort quickly to those displaced by natural and other disasters.

The evening raised nearly
