Rotary & Inner Wheel Barge Trip: 2016
Weather was fine for this excellent boat ride on the Francis Egerton, a 65ft narrowboat, converted into dining room accomodation seating 32 persons.
We filled the boat with 11 Inner Wheel Members and the rest from Rotary and Guests for our trip along the Bridgewater Canal. This 3 hour trip allowed to travel from Worsley through Monton,Barton over the Manchester Ship Canal to the Trafford Centre. We came back on the same canal to Worsley.
On the way we traversed the swing bridge at Barton, which was a highlight of the trip.
During travel we enjoyed a three course meal plus drinks, all produced from a galley of about 5ft square.
Everybody enjoyed the trip very much , and it was agreed this was a good example of Rotary & Inner Wheel having a great social outing. The cost was £26 per person.
