Judith Pearson, for her 50th. Birthday, wanted to raise enough money for 50 wheelchairs in a sponsored walk.
Many friends, including many Rotarians and Inner Wheel Ladies, joined a multi-faceted walk and money was raised which exceeded all expctations and enough money for over 100 wheelchairs was finally raised.
Last year Judith and Geoffrey embarked on another challenge, this time to match the initial figure.
We walked "The Inca Trail", well the famous bit, and ended up, after four days, in Machu Pichu. We walked and slept under canvas for the 26 miles from the Urubamba River.
Next year we are planning to help distriibute the wheelchairs, again in South Africa, going out in Februay 2013.
If you wish Judith or Geoffrey to speak to your club about their exploits on the Inca Trail or distribution of the wheelchairs please get in touch.
