Local homeless group, Emmaus, has received a £250 boost to its funds from the Club to help them to continue with their work in the local community. Emmaus does a fantastic job supporting previously homeless people and raises valuable funds from the sale of furniture and bric a brac donated by local residents as well as running a popular cafe from Longlands Mill.
After presenting the cheque, members of the Club were given a guided tour of the facilities withing Longlands Mill, Mossley, which has the capacity to support 26 companions at any one time.
Adrian France, Senior Finance Officer from Emmaus, said: 'this donation is much appreciated. At the heart of Emmaus Mossley are our companions - the residents we support. Our charity's main focus is on suppoting people, providing a home for as long as someone needs it and meaningful work in our social enterprise. The donation will assist Emmaus to continue to help our companions to live in a stable environment with the opportunity to regain lost self-esteem and the confidence to get back on their feet.'
more The Club presented a cheque for £100 & a Rotary Hero Award to Ella Warhurst of Mossley. She has raised funds for the NHS by selling homemade loom bands, stress balls & colouring packs. Ella has donated the money to Tameside Hospital's scanner appeal.
more Stalybridge Celtic Blues is a football team whose members have disabilities. When the club discovered that their existing kit was 3 years old they provided the funding to enable them to purchase replacements.

more Due to the pandemic Club members were unable to arrange tours of Dukinfield, Stalybridge and Mossley with Santa and supermarket collections. So Club members arranged for Mr & Mrs Santa to film Christmas stories for Youtube and set up a Justgiving page.
