President Derek has recently been delighted to induct three new members to the Club, Andrew Gadd representing the profession of Accountancy, Andrew Jackson designated as a Business Development Manager and Peter Owen designated as a School Improvement Officer. These men have been Associate Members for some time but due to work obligations they have been unable to commit to attending lunchtime meetings. Now that we have scheduled a few evening meetings, it has become easier to strengthen our ranks with new members who are still actively employed in the professional world.
We are actively seeking more new members; both those able to attend at lunchtimes and others who are still in employment, and this will be a focus for early 2016.
Of course, our exisiting members continue to provide a rich programme of activities and it is fitting when we can recognise "service above self" over a prolonged period of time. Eric Parker celebrated 40 years in Rotary, and was presented with a certificate and pen by President Derek in July, and Dennis Pollard celebrated 25 years and was presented with a certificate and Rotary cuff links in November. Our congratulations to both members.
