Club Evening Meeting. Speaker Leon MacLeod

Wed, Nov 18th 2015 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Leon MacLeod gave a very informative talk on the Golden Cluster in Middleton.

The Golden Cluster in Middleton is a collection of four buildings of outstanding interest. It comprises Long Street Methodist Arts and Crafts Church, Ye Olde Boars Head, the original Queen Elizabeth I Grammar School and St. Leonard's Parish Church. Leon provided information on their history, involving the local Lords of the Manor, back to late mediaeval and Tudor times. Although it is on our doorstep we tend to forget these achitectural and historical gems and Members and guests found the talk very informative.
