Gordon's Food Night

Mon, May 19th 2008 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

A Food Quiz organised by Gordon Walker was the highlight of the recent meeting. The winner to his (and the members great surprise) was Derek Langley, closely followed by the International traveller and gourmet Phil Oliver.  Among the questions members were asked in which decade following the Second World War were the following dishes fashionable – Avocado and Seafood salad, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Banofee Pie, Chicken Maryland, Coronation Chicken, Faggots.

The main business was the preparation for the ShelterBox display in Leyburn Market Square on Friday and Saturday.  Concern had been expressed that the ShelterBox the Club had bought to help in the Burma disaster had not reached its intended destination but assurance was given that it had.
