Business meeting

The Assistant District Governor Basil Bosomworth was a guest at the Business Meeting of Monday 15th. January.  Members expressed their enjoyment of the visits to Darlington to the theatre for the Viennese Evening and to Leyburn to the “Panto” at which they invited guests.  Christmas Plants taken around some local homes and the Christmas Meals on Wheels deliveries had been paid for. It was agreed that the Club would join with the Richmond Rotary Club in organising a Best Kept Village Competition.  In conjunction with Scarborough Rotary Club a Carer would be offered a holiday. The Right to Read project offered to local Primary Schools continues to be much appreciated. Members would support a Group Study exchange team if it comes to the District in May 2008. Purchasing and publicising Shelter boxes prior to Disaster requests was to be a feature for 2007/8. The Kids- Out Day of 13th. June would be supported. The “Wensleydale Wander” of Saturday 21st. April 2007 had attracted its first two competitors and members were asked to publicise the event which has Herriott Hospice Homecare as the main beneficiary. Stroke Awareness and Blood Pressure Day will again be organised by the Club to be held in Leyburn on 28th. April. The Herriott Run this year will take place on Sunday 29th. July at Castle Bolton.
