The Club Business Meeting at Penleys in discussing finance was reminded of the donations made to Kings Club, Amala, the purchase of 1,000 Crocus bulbs to be given to local schools in support of the PolioPlus 'Thanks for Life Purple Pinkies Appeal,' Life Straws to the Pakistan Flood Appeal and the District Mwansa project. Locally, the best Kept Village prize had been presented. Plans for the visit of the Group Study Exchange party from Brazil were confirmed. The PolioPlus news confirms that while Afghanistan, India, Nigeria and Pakistan are areas where Polio is endemic the number of reported cases is still falling. The next meeting will be an illustrated talk by Dr. Adrian Jones on "A visit to Iceland".
