Feedback on visit to The Gambia by Rotary group. Ladies Night

Mon, Mar 29th 2010 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

At a Ladies Evening at the Club, David Pointon and the Rotarians and Janet Hughes, who went in January to The Gambia to visit the only School for the Blind in this poor country presented an illustrated talk.

The School was built with Support from The Friends of Govi UK and Muslim Aid UK. The Club assisted with fund raising for the visit that took toys and much needed equipment and a vehicle to the School. The hazards (and frustrations) of the journey were seen to have been worthwhile in the pleasure seen in the children's reaction to the toys and the staff's reaction to the Perkins Brailler.
