The annual Keighley and Skipton Rotary Young Musician Competition will take place on Saturday 11th January 2025 in the same venue as before, St Andrews Church in Keighley town centre. ((Keighley Parish Church).
The competition is for solo vocalists and instrumentalists who are not yet 18 on 31st August 2024. (If they turn 18 on 1st September 2024 they may enter).
The performance should be no longer than 5 minutes. Backing tracks are allowed for vocalists, guitar players and percussion players. The backing tracks should be provided to the organiser electronically before the competition, preferable as soon as the piece had been decided on.The competitors will be divided into 3 or 4 age groups, and the timing of the performances of those age groups will be decided much nearer the time and will depend on the number of entries.
Entry is free for competitors. We welcome families and friends to watch. There is a modest charge for adults (children 18 and under can watch for free), which includes a hot or cold drink and delicious home made cakes.
You will perform in a local heat first before going, if selected onto a district final, a cluster final and then onto the national final on Saturday 29th March 2025
