Rotarians have been planting crocus corms to brighten up the grounds of 10 Sheffcare Homes across the city

Crocus Corm Planting

The Rotary Club of Sheffield has added a splash of colour to city care homes with it's spring bulb planting project. Club members, working under Covid-19 social distancing rules have planted crocus corms at 10 homes operated across the city by charity Sheffcare.

Kathryn Rawling, Sheffcare Volunteer Co-ordinator said, ' This is a kind act that will bring some much needed colour and sunshine in the spring.'

The club purchased the corms to support World Polio Day (24th October) and the End Polio Now campaign which is an international Rotary initiative. Since 1988 there has been a worldwide reduction in Polio cases of 99.9%. For more than 3 years now there have been wild Polio cases in only 2 countries - Afghanistan and Pakistan.
