Graham Bowen's Skills
Graham Bowen gave the members a demonstration of the skills required when mounting photos. He had brought with him all the tools, the boards, the tapes and the glues along with descriptions and prices of the different outlets (mainly Jessops) where they could be purchased.
The most important item in his opinion was an extremely heavy solid metal ruler, which was an essential when cutting straight edges.
His demonstration was excellent.
The President's Decision
Donald admitted at the beginning that he had been given support in his judging by Julie, so that if he offended, then she was as much to blame.
10 photos were in the competition and the remarks ranged from - Not taken enough time, shoot the photographer, for goodness sake don't waken him, bottom right corner was the best bit about the photo, a whore's eye shadow, a pair of James Bond's, a message of help, to the winning photo which Donald described by saying "the photographer had done well to capture 4 females at once".
The Winning photo was taken by George Sharp and our congratulations go to him and his 4 lovely ladies.
Vote of Thanks
Bill Low thanked the President and his good lady for the time and effort they had put in, producing copious notes on each photo and selecting a worthy Winner.
A O C B
The workshop held earlier in the Month had gone well and thanks to Graham Bowen for organising. As a result Grant McLeish had purchased Adobe Photoshop C S 2 and for a small fee would be happy to share it. Graham Pirie to share procedure notes he is preparing for Adobe Photoshop after Graham Bowen has checked them.
Next meeting
is on 30th March at Sandylands, South Road, Cupar. The competition has a Spring theme and is titled "Spring Flower(s) (Date changed from the 23rd).
Graham closed the meeting with a Vote of thanks to Graham & Carol.
