One of the Guiding Principles of Rotary, Vocational Service encourages Rotarians to serve others through their vocational experience and practice high ethical standards throughout their business and professional lives.
Trips to local businesses and places of interest are organised to keep members informed on current economic and employment conditions.
In turn, the experience of Rotarians is available to nurture the skills and abilities of the youth in our community.
Visits this year include a guided tour of Fisher's Services Cupar Depot and Dundee Observatory.
Youth Activities
Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) ❖ Perhaps one of the most successful Rotary programmes run by Rotary Districts around the world. Following interview, two local senior school pupils were selected to attend a week long outdoor activity and leadership course at Nethybridge. Upon return, both pupils gave a presentation to the club of their experiences.
Euroscola ❖ A project which involves Rotary clubs sponsoring a senior pupil proficient in French, usually at Advanced Higher, level on a visit to the European Parliament in Strasbourg. They will pose questions and debate in the Parliament chamber with around 500 students from throughout the EU.
Primary School Quiz ❖ District 1010 has for a number of years run a quiz for Primary 7 pupils which starts with local heats and culminates in a district final. These events give great enjoyment to pupils, parents, teachers and Rotarians.
